Comments on Flexible OLED Wrist Display Like Pip-Boy
Flexible OLED display now available in a wrist-worthy format. (Read the complete story)

"oh sign me up! I have a mock model of the pipboy 3000 (it came with the version of fallout 3 I got) and one foreseeable snag would be fitting it to the wrist without excessive customization from the manufacturer. Too loose, and it will move alot. Too tight, and it won't fit or it will hurt. I guess they could try lining the inside with something that makes it more snug or adjustable. They could also jsut make a ton of different sizes...like they do for clothing, but that would kinda suck. Any other thoughts along those lines?"

"Commander Keen came a long time before Fallout 3. He had a wrist puter that was fun and useful. http://hi.zpok.hu/maxigas/blog/keen4title.gif http://bog.old-cans.com/img/ss/commander-keen-6/commander-keen-6-ss1.gif http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/commander-keen-6-aliens-ate-my-baby-sitter/screenshots/gameShotId,7025/"

"gid - one possibility would be to embed the wrist bracelet in clothing, like part of a jacket. You're right; it's difficult enough to have a watch that fits properly and watch bands are only about an inch wide at the most.

"Here's an even earlier wrist device - the wireless wrist intercom shown in H.G. Wells' 1936 movie Things to Come.
