The Shape of Things To Come by H.G. Wells:
Science Fiction Inventions, Technology and Ideas

Interesting film produced by Alexander Korda and directed by William Cameron Menzies, based on H.G. Wells' 1933 novel The Shape of Things to Come. The film starts in 1940, when another world war has completely destroyed humanity's industrial base; most people don't even remember what civilization was like. Eventually, a futuristic society builds underground cities showing great technical progress. Wells was at the height of his personal fame at that point, and personally supervised every aspect of the film.
