Clark Ashton Smith

Clark Ashton Smith (1893-1961) authored a number of fantasy, horror and science fiction short stories. In addition, he was a poet, sculptor and painter. He never went to high school, having grown up in the small town of Auburn, California. He published his first volume of poetry at 19 in San Francisco.
