Science Fiction in the News Articles
Related to material in The Forever War
by Joe Haldeman

This novel tells the story of William Mandella, who is drafted into a military force formed to fight the Taurans, an alien species that attacked Terran ships. This novel is, in some ways, a reflection of the author's Vietnam experience, and is a response to earlier books like Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein.

Relativistic physics, space travel and future shock all come together in this novel, which won both the Hugo and Nebula awards for 1975. Great book.
