When the Green Star Waned by Nictzin Dyalhis:
Science Fiction Inventions, Technology and Ideas
Excellent story published in April, 1925. The story chronicles an expedition from Venus to save the more primitive Earth from aliens. This story was successful enough to have sequels, but none matched the original.
