Comments on SwisTrack Swarm Analysis Of Robots And Roaches
Swarms need to be studied - this tool can be used on insects or robots. (Read
the complete story)
"Check out this reference to dog pod grids, swarms of insect-sized aerostatic devices from Neal Stephenson's 1995 novel The Diamond Age."

"Bonjour!
We are excited by this technology, but need to know more.
We work on mosquitoes, and are trying to develop novel methods of control.
We want to spy on their love life, specifically the species that transmit dengue, chikungunya and yellow fever (Aedes aegypti).
We have a 1m3 plexiglass cage. We will release females into the cage. Let them settle in, then release males.
We know that females make the ultimate choice. They have to, because the males transfer a hormone that makes them reject other males.
So the females are strictly monogamous, whereas the males can inseminate 8-10 females.
We have no idea what happens when the females make their choice. Do they avoid inferior suitors? Are some suitors more ardent, more agile? Does their ardour change with encounters?
If we can use your technology, it would have to be in three dimensions, presumably two cameras at 90degrees?
We would also need cameras with suitable depth of field. We might need to station the cameras far from the cage to achieve that depth of field.
So: anyone interested to discuss this?
Over to you!
