Comments on Breathe Like A Fish Thanks To Alan Bodner
Alan Izhar-Bodner, an Israeli inventor, has developed a way for divers to breathe underwater without cumbersome oxygen tanks. His apparatus makes use of the air that is dissolved in water, just like fish do. (Read the complete story)

"Don't forget the "Abyss" and even the end of "Mission To Mars" where humans fill their lungs with a liquid through which they can breathe."

"As a diver, I would love to get my hands on a device like this! It sure would be more comfortable than the 40 pounds of gear that I use now! "
(Gary W. Conner 6/7/2005 11:55:55 AM)
"in the '70's an episode of the Six Million Dollar Man featured a gadget that was powered by the nuclear powere pack in Steve's bionic arm that used electolisis to extract oxygen from seawater. It was used for a covert mission that required diving for an extended period that would have swamped out conventional tanks or rebreathers..."

"Of course you forgot the most of TV's mermen "The Man From Atlantis" with Patrrick Duffy"

"The lack of solubility of oxygen in water is a definit problem. If memory serves me correctly, the solubility of O2 in water is less than 20 ppm, more in cold water than warm. This may induce the abundance of life in cold seas. Note that we live in an environment of 200,000 ppm 02, or 20% oxygen. "

"Maybe you could make a underwater mask which using a filter can convert the .carbon dioxide that we breathe out into oxygen"

"If there's enough air to support a person, would there be enough to support a air breahing engine? Replace the battery with a fuel tank and combination motor/vacuum pump? You'd get far more range. For that matter, you could build a diesel sub that doesn't need to surface every day or so to recharge."

"In an updated article add the information about the Navy and their oxygenated fluid that allows a diver to breath the fluid. It enters the lungs and has the oxygen absorbed by the blood stream. The intent was for deep sea divers to use the fluid instead of compressed gas for obvious reasons. The problem, of course, is getting the fluid out of your lungs when you're done."

"congratulations 18 months ago i decided to invent the artificial gill but unfortunately my country didnt support me so as i was too young i couldnt tolerate that they make fun of me so i left it. after inventing the artificial gill i think that we better think of a soloution for the high pressure under the seas. i am ready to cooperate with any one that is intertested in my comment. i hope to be able to see underwater cities in the near future. You can contact me via the following i.d phenomenon667@yahoo.com"

"I have developed near the same project in early 2005. It is funny that according to patent office I was one year late. I have presented the project on Moscow's Europian Union Contest For Young Scientest in 2005. There was a lot of folks from patent office. None of them told me such a project is already under examination. Have a look at Breathing under water Application of the Henry - Dalton law, method of separation dissolved gases."
(Frantisek Malina 11/5/2006 6:10:26 AM)
"There is definite prior art to the 20090249955 patent application claim 1. This should not be approved, and if it will, whoever invests in it puts his money at stake."
