Comments on Muscle-Controlled Interface Is Hands-Free
Research could lead to completely hands-free gaming interfaces. (Read
the complete story)
"Another use is for the triggering of "Power Holsters". A holster mounted on your arm, with memory-metal bands set up such that when you form your hand into the position necessary for firing your gun, the sensors in the Power Holster cause it to move the gun to your hand in proper position to fire. This makes firing your gun effectively "point and click", without having to draw it or take the time to do aim like normal. (tho you can still aim, if you have it set to place it in position so it's not quite firing until you finish pulling the trigger, instead of firing as soon as it's in your hand) Winchel Chung includes some details on Power Holsters in his Project Rho site, under the Sidearms page."

"Great comment! I added power holster to my database of technovelgy and found a nice long quote. Here is the most relevant bit: 'Here, take your left hand and grasp an imaginary gunbutt. Tense your trigger finger. Do you notice the pattern of the tendons in the wrist? Sensitive actuators touch the tendons in your right wrist. They ignore all patterns except the one that says hand ready to receive gun.'"
