Comments on Moller M400 SkyCar Taking Too Long
What exactly is keeping this guy? Don't we all want skycars? Robert Heinlein certainly did. (Read the complete story)

"Here's a nice hover test video of the Moller M400 SkyCar:

"
(Bill Christensen 11/25/2008 12:32:20 PM)
"Ok, this is terrifying. People are dangerous enough on the roads as it is. The idea of them being given access to an even greater range of targets does not appeal. Lovely vehicle though."
(Fortigurn 11/25/2008 8:36:33 PM)
"Rest assured, people will not go flying around with these anytime soon. The Moller M400 is terribly underpowered. It has never done anything but hovering tests simply because it can't, after 20 years of development."
( 11/26/2008 3:17:02 PM)
"That sounds good to me. I have no problem with people hovering uncertainly over their backlawn in one of these things and slipping sideways through their own kitchen window. Just as long as they don't head off in my direction."
(Fortigurn 11/26/2008 10:38:01 PM)
"That video is really old. This vehicle will never be finished."
(Nick 12/1/2008 6:12:13 AM)
"Moller has been stringing the public (and investors) along for far too long now. I have been following his work on his Skycars for at least a decade. I am going to call this one a bust. At least from Moller Labs."
(Futurist 12/2/2008 1:15:20 PM)
""If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride" or, If bricks could fly, then so could skycars"
(Zoox 12/29/2008 7:29:40 PM)
"Unfortunately, I have to agree with futurist. Until I see a real world application (maybe an ambulance or other emergency vehicle), I say it's never going to happen."
(Ben  1/7/2011 9:09:27 PM)
"Well I have to disagree with all the above comments, just because something is beyond todays technology does not mean it won't happen. Look how many criticised the early car, aeroplane, rocket and how many of you sitting at a computer would have dreamt as a child of being able to see and chat to someone on the other side of our planet?"
(scotsoft 6/24/2011 2:22:50 AM)
"Touche, Scotsoft! It WILL happen, because the market is there, and the technology will be. It is truly amazing to me that every generation has it's share of ignorant curmudgeons who declare that one technology or another has reached it's limits, because THEY simply can't imagine anything more advanced than what has been achieved to date. How nice it must be to know that you know npt only everything that anyone else knows, but to know all that is knowable about a given subject. I am truly embarrassed for you, and would encourage you to read a book about those who have said the same thing throughout history. What's that? Aircraft that weigh many tons, carrying hundreds of people across the ocean, while they drink cocktails?!? Rockets carrying people to a science station that FLOATS up in space?!?!? Boulderdash!! I say KILL the unholy heretic who would waste their time with dreams of such rubbish!!! I agree that Moller won't do it, but he's created a beautiful icon to encourage those who eventually will. "
