| "I've seen the legged lumberjack vehicle before and it's impressive, but I have to agree, it requires a human pilot. There is a big trend in the mainstream media of calling things "robots" that have very little autonomy, if any at all. To the point that even technophiles like us get caught up in it. The trees would probably be tougher to compute movment and navigation than open ground, (much less picking which tree to cut down) but I can see no reason that the DARPA-challenge type of computing tech and appropriate sensors could eventually be put into a walker like that. | "Yes, you're right, it's not a robot. I didn't mention it because you can actually see the guy operating it in the video. Probably calling a 'robotic vehicle' would be closer, since there does appear to be some autonomous movement of the legs.
