Comments on Road Stud Traffic Camera Reads License Plates
A traffic surveillance camera concealed in a road stud can read your license plate as you drive by; it can even see if your tires are bald at 150 miles per hour. (Read
the complete story)
"Astucia has also developed what they call a "Dynamic Road Marking System." It is based on the ultra-bright LEDs in their road studs being hardwired to (and controllable by) a larger system that can utilize the entire road surface, including hard shoulder surfaces, to make more lanes available (in either direction!) during heavy traffic periods. See details here. "

"Two problems with this product first is being an optical device it must remain clean which is not going to happen when embedded in the road surface.
Second the lens will quickly become very scratched up from traffic passing over it likely within two weeks with heavy traffic.
Other issues would includ theft and vandalism.
In short it's a poorly concieved product that would not work in a real world situation."
