"I don't know if you have seen it, but in the movie "Bait" with Jamie Foxx, there is a tracking/recording device implanted in his jaw that is actively monitored by the NSA. Outside of this, I have never seen an actual implementation of the technology. I suppose it is one form of media borrowing from another."

"Don't forget the "subcutaneous communicators" from the classic Star Trek episode Patterns of Force. That was in the 1970's though."

"My sister-in-law has a cochlear implant - a hearing aid that uses electrodes attached to the cochlea (inner ear) to stimulate the auditory nerve directly, so no mechanical vibration is necessary. The electrodes come to a small magentic plate beneath the skin behind her ear. The rest of the hearing aid is a small case containing the microphone, battery, amplifier, signal processing system, and a magnetic probe that clings to the subcutaneous plate and uses magnetic fields to energize the electrodes. Not a full communication system, but it'd make a dandy "earphone" for a silent comm system. "

"For personal communication you can't beat the micro com unit that the PHONE COMPANY wanted to implant in the heads of everyone on the planet (and this was in 1967) in the President's Analyst."

"The problem with implanted stuff is that it's hard to upgrade! "

"have you ever encounter what is known as virtix. i only got the gist of its function, and that is enough to make me persue this new technology, for it test many realities and i must say that just like personalities, to each his or her own"
