The Bicentennial Man by Isaac Asimov:
Science Fiction Inventions, Technology and Ideas
A Robot series novelette that Asimov wrote for a project timed for publication during the American Bicentennial. As usual, Asimov produced his segment, even though the arrangement fell through, and retained his rights to the story.
A robot wishes to be declared a man; after 200 years, his wish is granted.
The Bicentennial Man was awarded both the Hugo Award and the Nebula Award for best science fiction novelette of 1976. Select
