"The thing about the O-220 is that its "lifting gas" is vacuum. Not possible in Burroughs' day because anything which could hold a vacuum was so thick and heavy that you don't have any lift. Harbenite was the unobtainium which made the vacuum airship possible.
Surely we're close to inventing a "Harbenite" of our own. Carbon nanotubes maybe?"
