"Interesting article, but did any airships of this type ever get buildt?
I am also interested in Airships, but after searching a great deal, I found that the earlies operational navigatible baloon(ordinary manned baloons are much older, but was dependent on wind-direction for movement) is from the days of the franco-preussian war(1870-1871), and exept for this airship(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:DupuyLomeDirigeable.jpg), most designs I have found are of the much more modern Zeppelin-style design."
