"the magnus effect is used in motorsport to create downforce. The front wheels spin very fast inducing this effect so the front bumper is sliced mid wheel to feed the wheel with incoming air to create the downforce. Normally the splitter is very protrudes backwards close to the tyre so the air gushed downwards creates a high pressure that generates the aformentioned downforce."
