(Hmmm... there are about 269K instances of the phrase 'degrees Kelvin' on webpages indexed by Google... On the other hand, the National Institute of Standards and Technology page defines it as 'The kelvin, unit of thermodynamic temperature, is the fraction 1/273.16 of the thermodynamic temperature of the triple point of water.' And it does refer to 'the Kelvin and the degree Celsius'. So, I guess the readers are right again... sigh. However, in my defense, I'd like to point out that the venerable Halliday/Resnick text, Physics for students of science and engineering [John Wiley & Sons, 1964], my high school AP physics class bible, says 'degrees Kelvin' when defining the term. | "That's a really interesting question. In the context of the story, the image appears life-sized and in the correct colors and perspective. I guess I assumed that the speed of light was the same for all wavelengths regardless of the medium through which it traveled, and that there was no 'prismatic' effect that would act to separate colors." | " back in the 70's induring an acid trip we had a discussion abot slowglass. let's assume time travel is possible. one could set up a pane of slow glass and capture t-rex in real time or pearl harbor. my screenplay opens at owens corning labs where a special glass was cooking. an electrical storm sent a massive charge into the molten glass that then exploded leaving a mess that the janitors cleaned up. one of them takes home a piece of this and discovers a real time image of the lab explosion. this was the birth of slow glass. when the lhc (large hadron collider)broke the time equasion they teamed up with owens corning and created a company who provided architects with large panes of slowglass for the wealthy, lobby's of corporations, hotels and the like. what makes this a movie pilot or a tv series is that folks are witnessing crimes or horrible images that requires a revisit by our time travel black ops teams to investigate the crime scene and maybe stop the event from taking place. two problems arise changing an event in history as we know would be catastrophic. if yor moms first husband was never killed she would have never met your father. you would suddenly vanish along with all those people who were affected by that first husband. problem two is that some of the black ops guys went awol and stayed in tombstone and hung out with wyat earp or hung out with ben franklin sharing advaned knowledge with him severly altering history. well you see the endless story possibilities for a movie and tv series. i've sent my screenplays around not knowing you existed. i googled slowglass and here we are. call me at 702 396 8291, cell 702 544 9045. joe verri i'm sorry!"
