| "As I stood atop Twin Peaks overlooking San Francisco the sight I beheld was a common sight to all Urban areas; the individual spires of the downtown area blending into the commercial district then into the sea of homes with small blotches of green amidst the homes. The buildings I saw, from the towering spires to the humble family dwellings are a reflection of us and our society,individualistic,separated and possessive. It's the best we have and have known but all that I see must be so far from the Creators Original Purpose and plans for humanity to grow into. What a waste and mindless misuse of this fantaastic world we live upon. The mega-cities Mr. Soleri envisoned is like a page out of the science fiction writings of Frank Herbert or Ray Bradbury., it belongs to another time where people have a different consciousness which finds the greatest joy not from drifting of to the great comfort and peace of nature which is certainly a reguvenating experience but we find the greatest joy from discovering each persons unique character, call it a small part of God's own character. If that Original Blueprint for our development had only happened and there was never the fall of man how different would our lives and our cities be. I think Mr. Soleri has glimpsed what God intended for us but being the fools we are we neither listen to nor follow the words of of Heavenly Parents. We only have ourselves to blame for our current stazte of affairs. But dream with me for a moment do you see the city of San Francisco rising to the skies in 1 beautiful enormous monolith a mile in height covering the Penninsula from the Pacific Ocean to where the Bay Bridge crosses the Bay, instead of a sea of houses we see the original landscape of green stands of redwoods elms and all the native plants stretching before us . Amidst this sea of green are small communities, one is for writers amother for painters another for botanist another for physicist another for astronomers. we have learned to live together in peace and love (wasn't there something like this in the 60's, but that never quite made it)We have learned to respect the great and wonderful balance of nature and how to preserve it thinking more for our posterity than for ouselves.Our minds have been purified our thoughts on the welfare of others and not focused on our petty selfishness. Imagine for a moment that our purpose in life is to learn, study, and create rather than being tied to paying off our mortageges in jobs we endure with people we must tolerate. I have seen a different vision of our future and what should have been our past. I know not where this message will go nor if any eyes will read it or stop for a moment and consider what I have written, but write it I must!

For those analytical types… imagine a city, not 1 cubic mile, but about 1,400 miles vertical and horizontal, on each side! If my math’s right, that’s about 2,744,000,000 cubic miles, or 719,300,000,000,000,000 cubic acres. I don’t know if that’s ‘enclosed in a single building’, but it’s an awesome city above and beyond an Arcology - especially in view of its beauty (as described), and the peacefulness of enjoyment of living in a society with people who are not selfish or self-serving, dominating or degrading, for “(27) Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose name are written in the Lamb’s book of life”!
