"You're going to want to check out the book "A Hymn Before Battle" by John Ringo, if you haven't already. It takes the same basic idea of a "Power Armor" system like Heinlein's, but takes it further than he did. It brings up interesting points."

" Can You tell me how to purchase this robot suit as my nephew has polio effected legs may be your help come in handy . can u please tell me how to contact the maker of this robot suit ny email is wespap@indiainfo.com"

" Also worth checking out is the forever war by Joe Haldeman there the powered armor also has trauma features "The suit is set up to save as much of your body as possible. If you lose part of an arm or a leg, one of sixteen razor-sharp irises closes around your limb with the force of a hydraulic press, snipping it off neatly and sealing the suit before you can die of explosive decompression. Then "trauma maintenance" cauterizes the stump, replaces lost blood, and fills you full of happy juice and No-shock. So you will either die happy or, if your comrades go on to win the battle, evntually be carried back up to the ship's aid station.""

"To the dude who wants to get a PA suit for his son, I'm sorry to report that it is still in the designing stage, although since found a prototype in a book from the 70s it shouldn't be long before something for the consumer comes out."
(Jprime 9/26/2005 8:25:20 PM ) |
"I am currently in the stage of concept/fabrication of a simular suit and am happy to announce that im further along than any other reports of anyone else. "

"i was going to suggest the John Steakley novel, but i see another human being on the planet has actually heard of it, so might i suggest the Halo box set? throughout all three books the various systems in the Master Chief's Mjolnir Armor is described in some detail."

"There Is Also Work Going On In Japan There Is A Walking Chair That Walks On Two Legs
Plus There Is Work Going On On Compressed Gas Powered Muscles As Well But There Is A Catch The Gas Powered Suit That I Saw Use's The Human Skeleton As The Suport Structure In The Same Way As The Suits In The Book Fallen Dragon By Peter F.Hamilton."

"Also see E.E. "Doc" Smith's Lensman novels. His heroes wear space armor. Though I can't recall any mention of powered suit actuation, I think shields were mentioned, which would have meant they had power."

"Doc's armor would have to be powered; remember that Kimball's suit literally weighed a ton, and he made the comment that he didn't wear the suit as much as pilot it. The Bergenholm would have made the suit quite responsive when on, too."
