Gravity Lens

An optical lens created using the lightbending properties of gravity. (Read the full article)

"Gravitational microlensing was also discussed as a way to discover planets orbiting distant stars."

"hey i thought i saw a Hubble photograph that was taken with the 'aid' of a gravitic lens. i thought i read that due to the closeness of a cluster of stars(?), it bent light and caused a blur, which upon further examination, turned out to be a whole lot of galaxies far, far away. So, don't take my word for it- go to nasa's site and get to the hubble page and go look for it. Its only one picture so search hard."

"Yes, take a look at this story: Biggest Zoom Lens In Space Extends Hubble's Reach. The Hubble used the gravitational effects of Abell 1689, a galaxy cluster with more than a trillion stars, to see galaxies twice as faint as those photographed in the Hubble Deep Field."

"Have more info. on the person youtalk about and more info. on whatthat preson did. "

"Paris - Some of the people who write in wish I would just have more quotes from more sources; others want longer articles with more links! You can't please everyone."
