In just a few short months, the Earth's technological civilization was wrecked entirely. The Moon captured some of Earth's atmosphere, making it a possible refuge for the few remaining humans. Relics of an extinct civilization of Moonmen is discovered. Tidal forces wreck the Moon, and it withdraws, allowing the Earth to revive.
