War Game by Philip K. Dick:
Science Fiction Inventions, Technology and Ideas

"Let the aliens get away with one thing - and they'd get away with everything - including the Earth!"

('War Game' by Philip K. Dick)

Wonderfully paranoid short story by Dick encapsulates the suspicion of all others that came about during the Cold War. Manufacturers from the outer planets send new toys in for testing. Are they harmless diversions for children, or some form of weapon? Or worse?

Select an invention:

Memo-Voice
Paper memos that read themselves out loud.

Toy Testing Dummy
A child-sized device used to test suspect toys.
