Too Many Boards! by Harl Vincent:
Science Fiction Inventions, Technology and Ideas
"SINCE time immemorial, it
seems to us, man has rebelled
against every tendency toward
what seemed to him an infringement of his personal liberty. But
in every age some new law seems
to be invented specially to increase
man's misery. The next line of
action seems to be beautifully laid
out for us already — that is, the
next really important change. But
that — and the author tells about it
in this story — will probably not go
through, however, until life has
become somewhat more standard-
ized, which, on the other hand,
can't be so far off at that.
"
