"I don't know why I write science fiction. The voices in my head told me to!"
- Charles Stross

Word Tab
A feature of an e-paper document; touch the word tab and get more information.

Pethel was intrigued by a picture in his magazine; he touches the word tab attached to the picture to find out more.

Pethe touched the word tab of Thisbe's pic and at once Thisbe's eyes sparkled, her head turned, her stable, dense breasts vibrated subtly, and in the balloon above her head the proper words formed.

Embarrassing personal urgency, Mr. American Businessman? Do as many doctors recommend; visit my Golden Door!

It was an ad, Pethel discovered. Not an informative article.

This is one of the ideas that really display the fluidity of Dick's imagination. Have you ever spent a lot of time online, where you can just click on a word to get more in-depth information, and then switched to reading a newspaper? Have you ever had the urge to try to "click" on something in a newspaper or magazine, only to be disappointed with dead tree media?

Look for this feature as e-paper readers like the new Readius cell phone with a five-inch foldable display start to turn into full-sized e-paper newspapers like the one from the 2002 movie Minority Report (itself made from a PKD story).

Oh, and by the way, the Golden Door Moments of Bliss satellite is an orbital brothel, owned by Thisbe Olt.
