Womb Room

The ultimate ship's bridge. (Read the full article)

"The Womb Room reminds me a lot of a system that was developed at MIT by Nicholas Negroponte and the MIT Architecture Machine Group (ArchMac) called the SDMS, or Spatial Management Data System, also known as "Dataland" and PTT (Put There), back in the late 70s-early 80s. Dataland was a room with a chair with touch-sensitive panels on its arms, which were used to control information, projected (via video projector from computer or laserdisc) on the walls of the room, such as zooming in on a projected map for more detail and such. It also had 8 speakers for sound in the room. Definitely the Womb Room in real life... Here's some links regarding SDMS: http://www.starhill.us/spatialdataland.html http://www.mat.ucsb.edu/~g.legrady/academic/courses/03w200a/spatialization/ http://web.media.mit.edu/~lip/References/Bolt_PTT.pdf"
